Framing in the Second Door

We spent the month of May kicking our house's ass. The project above:

I sanded off the rust from the steel that had been sitting through the winter and then cut it to fit the width of the house. This was actually a very quick process. This large steel became the foundation for the seconding sliding glass door (for the first one, we used this kind of material to make a frame surrounding the entire door frame).

Once the foundation was in, we had to make a decision on where to place the door. We eneded up off setting it so that we would be able to have a corner of space for storage or seating. From there it was a lot of cutting of steel and simple framing.

This post is a technical write up by Noah about our windows. It might be helpful for anyone who is wondering about our materials.
